Naver announced on the 19th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with L'Or?al Korea, outlining various cooperation plans including the establishment of joint strategies to promote eco-friendly business and social values.
Through this agreement, Naver plans to collaborate with L'Or?al Korea to enable sellers and users within the Naver ecosystem to participate in practicing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values.
To spread a sustainable consumption culture, Naver and L'Or?al Korea will conduct promotions to activate refill products on Naver Shopping.
Additionally, both companies will explore ways to reduce carbon emissions generated from online advertising campaigns. Based on Naver's direct and indirect electricity usage data, L'Or?al Korea will measure the carbon emissions produced during Naver ad executions and discuss environmentally friendly advertising strategies. Naver will develop eco-friendly advertising guidelines that brands can utilize based on this collaboration.
Furthermore, to create social impact across various fields, the two companies will jointly promote campaigns in business areas where they can generate synergy. Naver Connect Foundation's software education platform 'Entry' is collaborating with L'Or?al Korea's brand 'Urban Decay' to run the 'Cyber Violence OUT' challenge, raising awareness about online bullying.
Cha Seon-ju, Head of External and ESG Policy at Naver, stated, "We will continue our efforts to enable advertisers, sellers, and users within the Naver ecosystem to participate in creating a sustainable business environment."
