Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the launch ceremony of the '2024 Global Innovation Science Camp' held on the afternoon of the 18th at the annex auditorium of the district office, hosted by the District Future Education Foundation, and delivered words of encouragement to future science talents.
The 'Global Innovation Science Camp' is a project that supports the development of future science talents by providing local youth with excellent scientific thinking and inquiry skills the opportunity to directly experience advanced overseas science and technology and culture.
This camp is the second one this year, following the visit to Japan's JAXA in July, and participants will travel to Taiwan, known as a semiconductor powerhouse.
A total of 30 students were selected for this camp. The students will visit the TSMC Innovation Museum, Taiwan National Space Center (TASA), and National Taiwan Science Education Center, among others, to broaden their perspectives as global science talents.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, “Science is the key to opening a better future we dream of. I hope this camp will be a valuable opportunity to directly experience the forefront of advanced science and design the future.” He added, “We will continue to expand youth support projects centered on science and technology to establish a solid foundation for nurturing global science talents.”
