The Korea Forestry Promotion Institute announced on the 19th that it received the Presidential Citation in recognition of its efforts to protect forests by preventing pine wilt disease and forest pests.

The Institute's Pine Wilt Disease Monitoring Center has contributed to reducing damage from pine wilt disease and preventing its spread through ▲drone surveillance and video analysis ▲field investigations ▲control consulting ▲strategy development ▲monitoring of control product quality ▲data management, among other efforts.
It also collaborated with local governments to minimize damage in newly affected areas and helped maintain disease-free zones as pine wilt disease clean areas.
Choi Mu-yeol, President of the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute, stated, “The Institute will continue to take the lead in protecting the nation's important asset, forests,” and added, “We will make every effort to prevent the spread of pine wilt disease.”
