A 33-week pregnant woman with twins in Cheonan, Chungnam, wandered looking for a hospital for emergency delivery and ended up giving birth in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, about 120 km away.

According to Jeonbuk National University Hospital on the 18th, at around 6:33 a.m. the previous day, a 41-year-old pregnant woman, Ms. A, at 33 weeks in Cheonan, reported abdominal pain and bleeding to 119. The 119 ambulance team and emergency management center contacted 25 hospitals in Chungnam, Daejeon, Chungbuk, Seoul, and Gyeonggi, but all responded that they could not accommodate her.

About two hours after Ms. A requested help, Jeonbuk National University Hospital contacted them saying emergency delivery surgery was possible. Ms. A arrived at Jeonbuk National University Hospital by fire department helicopter at 9:29 a.m. that day and underwent emergency surgery. It was about three hours after the initial report.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Ms. A was observed to have gestational diabetes and placenta accreta during the surgery, and after the operation, she safely delivered twin boys. A representative from Jeonbuk National University Hospital said, "The delivery surgery went well, and both the mother and the twin babies are in good health." After giving birth, Ms. A expressed, "I am grateful for saving my babies and me."
