Song Jong-guk Accused of Child Support Nonpayment Allegations
Actress Park Yeon-su took a jab at her ex-husband, former soccer player Song Jong-guk.
On the 18th, Park Yeon-su posted a poster of 'Monster: The Secret of Loch Ness' on her social media (SNS). Along with it, she wrote, "I knew you were someone who wasn't afraid of anything, but blocking calls and preventing your child from going to training camp means you're done once you go to Canada." She also added, "You who only love yourself are truly the best."
Although Park Yeon-su did not specify the subject in her post, the content suggests it was a jab at her ex-husband Song Jong-guk. Earlier, on the 2nd, Park Yeon-su wrote "child support" on her SNS. The accompanying image showed a character holding up a yellow card as a warning. Park Yeon-su also left a message saying, "Please just keep the promises," leading netizens to speculate that Song Jong-guk might have failed to pay child support.
Meanwhile, on the 16th, Song Jong-guk appeared on MBN's real variety show 'Gaboja-go (GO)' Season 3. When asked about his future plans by the MCs, he revealed, "I currently have plans to immigrate to Canada." Song Jong-guk said, "I like teaching children, so I plan to continue doing that. Recently, I received permanent residency in Canada," adding, "The soccer market in Canada is decent, so I want to try it out. I had never thought about living abroad before, but going to Canada might be a new challenge." On the show, Song Jong-guk also revealed his camping car worth about 70 million won where he currently resides.
Park Yeon-su married Song Jong-guk in 2006 and they have one son and one daughter. The family gained great popularity after appearing on MBC TV's variety show 'Dad! Where Are We Going?' in 2013. However, the couple divorced in 2015, with custody and parental rights awarded to Park Yeon-su. Since then, Park Yeon-su has been raising the children alone. Their daughter Song Ji-ah is a professional golfer, and their son Song Ji-uk is preparing to become a soccer player, actively participating as a junior athlete.
Child support must be paid to the other spouse even if one has no job or income. Generally, even those who do not engage in any economic activity must pay a minimum of 300,000 won per child per month until the child turns 19. The amount varies depending on the couple's income, place of residence, number of children, and the children's ages.
