Im Seong-hwa, a member of the Seo-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City (representing Gwangcheon-dong, Yudeok-dong, Chipyeong-dong, Sangmu 1-dong, Dongcheon-dong), received a commendation from the Chief of Gwangju Police Agency on the 13th.

Im was recognized for her high level of interest and understanding of the police, including the enactment of the "Ordinance to Support Autonomous Police Affairs in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City."

The "Ordinance to Support Autonomous Police Affairs in Seo-gu," proposed by Im, attracted attention as the first ordinance enacted by an autonomous district in Gwangju to implement the autonomous police affairs, which were abruptly enforced in 2021, in accordance with the local circumstances of Seo-gu.

Im said, "While considering policies for the safety of local residents' lives, I felt the importance of the police's role even more," adding, "I enacted the 'Ordinance to Support Autonomous Police Affairs' to facilitate the smooth promotion of autonomous police affairs."

Im has been actively engaged in legislative activities to enhance public welfare in the local community in response to social environmental changes, including the enactment of ordinances supporting single-person households, promoting safety in the use of personal mobility devices, and preventing traffic accidents involving elderly drivers. She is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Operations Committee of the 9th Seo-gu Council's second half term.
