Kim Taeheum Criticizes Public Officials' Complacency: "Why Raise Issues Now When Next Year's Budget Is Already Set?" Kim Taeheum Chungnam Governor

On the 18th, Kim Tae-heum, Governor of South Chungcheong Province, strongly criticized the 'Chungnam Low Birthrate TF' project, which is part of the 'Strong Chungnam Full Care Welfare Policy,' saying, "The budget for next year has already been set, so why are we addressing this so late?"

At a directors' meeting held that day, Governor Kim pointed out, "The budget for next year has not been reflected, and now you're saying it will be included in the supplementary budget. Isn't that too slow? It should have been included in the main budget plan for next year."

He continued, "I've been advised to be less critical during executive meetings. I've also heard that some people avoid reporting important issues to avoid being reprimanded. This isn't a neighborhood club meeting; aren't we working for the residents? If you make a mistake, you should be prepared to face criticism," he admonished.

Regarding smart farm education overseen by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and the Agricultural Research and Extension Services, Kim said, "You say 60% of the training has been completed, but out of 9,000 people, where have at least 1,000 of them been assigned? Set up a system so that we can see everything at a glance," he instructed.

He added, "The judgment and decisiveness of directors and department heads are important. You need to have the ability to respond quickly. Please make sure that delays do not prevent you from doing your job. From now on, responsibility will be enforced," he emphasized.

Governor Kim said, "I hope you can think broadly, as if you were a minister. Don't be discouraged, and if you can't do something, don't hold onto it?let's solve things together at the right time. I hope you will solve problems actively and proactively, rather than passively," he said.
