Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, Meets Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, to Discuss Policy Cooperation

Promotion of Icheon Agricultural Products Consumption, Agreement to Collaborate on Digital Twin

On the 15th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 18th that Mayor Kim Kyung-hee and the city delegation visited Seoul City Hall and held a roundtable meeting with Mayor Oh Se-hoon and others to discuss mutual development between the two cities.

In addition to Mayor Kim, the roundtable meeting was attended by Park Myung-seo, chairman of the city council, Noh Jae-deok, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, Lee Eung-kwang, CEO of the Icheon Cultural Foundation, and Hong Kwang-pyo, head of the King’s Mark Icheon Brand Management Headquarters. From Seoul City, Lee Dong-ryul, director of the Administration Bureau, and Park Chan-gu, special political advisor, were present.

On that day, the two cities discussed mutual development plans such as promoting the consumption of Icheon agricultural products, cooperation on digital twin (DT) technology, and revitalizing cultural exchanges. Both sides reached a consensus on operating sales and promotional booths for Icheon agricultural products at major Seoul city events and festivals, as well as on consumption plans for Icheon agricultural products by public institutions under Seoul City, the city explained. To build the DT model that Icheon City is promoting, they shared Seoul City’s operational experience and cloud policy know-how and discussed cooperation plans to lead the domestic related industry.

At the roundtable meeting, the two cities also agreed on cultural and artistic performance cooperation, including the Seoul performance of Icheon City’s traditional folk game 'Geobuknori' and the participation of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in the Icheon International Music Festival.

Mayor Kim said, "Based on Icheon City’s resources, traditional culture, and technological capabilities, we will strengthen cooperation with Seoul City to make Icheon a representative advanced city of South Korea."
