DB Kim Joon Ki Cultural Foundation - DB Financial Investment, '10th DB GAPS Investment Competition' Award Ceremony Held

The DB Kim Joon-ki Cultural Foundation (Chairman Yoon Dae-geun) hosted, and DB Financial Investment (CEO Kwak Bong-seok) organized, the award ceremony for the "10th 2024 DB GAPS Investment Competition," which was held on the 16th at the DB Financial Center in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, the foundation announced on the 18th.

The DB GAPS Investment Competition is distinguished from previous competitions that focused solely on returns by being the first in Korea to invest based on a global asset allocation strategy, constructing portfolios of major domestic and international assets. The competition spanned five months from June 3 to October 31, including a preliminary league (3 months) and a final league (2 months), with participation from 1,006 teams (3,018 individuals) representing 135 universities.

The prestigious first place was awarded to the cubit team from Keimyung University (Kim Dong-jin and two others), who ranked first in the excellent returns category. The icebreaker team from Yonsei University (Lee Kyung-seop and two others) and the GKP Asset Management team from Kyungpook National University (Koo Seok-hyun and two others) took second and third place, respectively. Fourth and fifth places were secured by the Dongwon Training team from Sogang University (Jang Ji-kwang and two others) and the Sirius team from Incheon National University (Jang Min-jae and two others), respectively.

While teams can place in the rankings based on returns in the DB GAPS Investment Competition, it is also a strategy-focused competition where teams with innovative and excellent asset allocation philosophies can be honored separately from returns. Among the eight teams that advanced to the presentation session, three teams with outstanding portfolio management philosophies were awarded separately.

In the category of excellence in management philosophy, the Dongwon Training team from Sogang University (Jang Ji-kwang and two others), the Sirius team from Incheon National University (Jang Min-jae and two others), and the Geumga's Hero team from Gachon University (Kim Nam-ho and two others) received awards.

All award-winning teams were provided with scholarships, and the top two teams in the excellent returns category, along with the three teams recognized for outstanding management philosophy, were given the opportunity to participate in a 3-night, 4-day financial exploration tour in Asia.

Kwak Bong-seok, CEO of DB Financial Investment, said in his encouragement speech, "Please remember that returns are the result of managing risk," and added, "If you have learned the importance of efficient resource management, I am confident it will be a good starting point for your future investments."
