The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 18th that the R&D project "Development of an Intelligent Solution for Creating Digital Measured Drawings of Cultural Heritage" will receive the Innovation Award at the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). CES is the world's largest information and communication technology (ICT) convergence exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States. It is held every January in Las Vegas.

The Innovation Award is given by the CTA to innovative products and new technologies that possess technical excellence, aesthetics, and innovation. The honored product is Caratfont's "Arch3D Liner." This dedicated software was developed to overcome the shortage of software specialized in creating drawings of excavated artifacts. It helps produce digital measured drawings by precisely analyzing the shapes of buried heritage using 3D digitized (scanned) data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Geonwoo Lee, CEO of Caratfont, explained, "It is an intelligent solution considering user characteristics and research standardization in the cultural heritage field, featuring AI-based irregular shape information analysis, line segment prediction, heuristic processes, a robotic arm multi-scanning system, and periodic page generation mode. It enables precise digital recording, achieving significant results in cultural heritage preservation and research."

This is the first time an Innovation Award has been received in the national heritage-related technology sector. Arch3D Liner was the industry's first to obtain GS (Good Software) Certification Grade 1 in March and the government's Excellent New Product Certification (NEP) in June. CEO Lee stated, "We will do our best to become a leading country with excellent cultural heritage technology through continuous technological development."

The Cultural Heritage Administration has allocated a budget of 2.5 billion KRW over four years starting in 2022 for Arch3D Liner. Seulbi Ryu, Officer of the National Heritage Industry Promotion Team, said, "Since most of the 'National Heritage Smart Preservation and Utilization Technology Development' projects have entered the commercialization stage, we will continue to produce meaningful outcomes."
