Ulsan City Holds Road Completion Ceremony Between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon

Completion on the 18th... Official Opening on November 27 at 12 PM

Resolving the Long-standing Wish of Over 13,000 Households in Cheongok-dong, Buk-gu

The road between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon, a long-awaited project for over 13,000 households in the Cheongok-dong area, will be completed.

Ulsan City will hold a completion ceremony for the road construction between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon at 2:30 PM on the 18th at Soeburi Bridge.

The ceremony will be attended by about 100 people, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, local members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, and local residents, and will include a progress report, ribbon-cutting, and commemorative photo session.

This project connects an unlinked internal road section with a width of 20 meters and a length of 0.26 km in the Cheongok-dong area of Buk-gu, where large apartment complexes are densely located, with a total project cost of 11.7 billion KRW.

After completing the detailed design in 2017, compensation work began in 2018, but the project faced difficulties starting due to increased compensation costs from land price rises, insufficient construction funds, and the government's fiscal austerity policy.

However, with Ulsan City securing the largest budget ever last year, the project officially started in February 2023, and the completion ceremony is being held today, 1 year and 9 months later.

After the completion ceremony, additional safety facilities will be installed on Soeburi Bridge, and normal traffic will be possible from noon on November 27.

An official from Ulsan City said, “The road opening between Dalcheon I-Park and Cheongokcheon, a long-cherished project for residents, is expected to contribute not only to traffic convenience for over 13,000 households in Cheongok, Sangan, and Dalcheon-dong but also to securing pedestrian safety for students and revitalizing the local commercial district. To resolve traffic inconveniences around residential areas and minimize residents’ inconvenience during construction, the completion ceremony was held three months ahead of the scheduled completion date.”
