The ceremony was promoted to express gratitude and respect for the dedication of those who have devotedly participated in Democratic Party activities for more than 20 years, despite the party experiencing various ups and downs during the era of party member sovereignty.
The ceremony was attended by Yang Bu-nam, Chairman of the Gwangju City Party (Gwangju Seo-gu Eul), along with lawmakers Min Hyung-bae (Gwangju Gwangsan Eul), Jeong Jun-ho (Gwangju Buk-gu Gap), Jeon Jin-sook (Gwangju Buk-gu Eul), 20-year merit party members, and key party members.
The badge recipients shared their reflections on their party activities and expressed their intention to work even harder with a strong sense of loyalty to the party.
Chairman Yang Bu-nam stated, “The meaning contained in this badge is a token of gratitude and respect from all Gwangju party members for the efforts and dedication in protecting the Democratic Party and democracy for over 20 years. Starting with this badge awarding ceremony, we will operate the city party following the opinions of merit party members and open a true ‘era of party member sovereignty’ that respects the will of party members, beginning in Gwangju.”
