Renovating a Space Showcasing Innocean's Capabilities... Debuting First Project 'Safe Bathhouse'

Utilizing 'Creative' Skills for 'Space Renewal'
Project Underway to Revitalize Neglected Spaces

Innocean announced on the 18th that it has created the "safest bathhouse in the world" for the elderly.

The safe bathhouse is a complete remodeling of ‘Iljuk Bathhouse’ in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, which was built in 1997 and has been operating for 27 years without renovation. Through this, it aims to provide a safe bathing environment for local residents, mostly elderly, and contribute to the spread of a healthy bathing culture.

The renewal of Iljuk Bathhouse involved refurbishing the entire aging public bathhouse, from the entrance to the changing rooms and the bathing areas. To prevent safety accidents common among the elderly, such as heat shock, burns, drowning, and falls?which are major causes of fatalities in bathhouses?the space was thoroughly redesigned to enhance residents’ satisfaction. Iljuk Bathhouse is scheduled to hold a completion ceremony and officially open on the 22nd.

An Innocean representative stated, “Although these places are essential for local residents, we decided to apply Innocean’s creative technology to renovate locations where management and supervision had become neglected due to decreased users and an aging population.”

Innocean plans to actively apply its creative capabilities to deteriorated spaces to realize public benefits and social value, starting with this safe bathhouse project. Lee Yong-woo, CEO of Innocean, said, “This project, which aimed to breathe new life into disappearing spaces through rebranding and spread positive social influence, was a special challenge for Innocean. We will continue to take the lead in realizing social value through ‘creativity’ that only Innocean can provide.”

Meanwhile, the safe bathhouse project involved participation from Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Gyeonggi Social Economy Center, Anseong Medical Welfare Social Cooperative, Community Chest of Korea, World Vision, and the architectural firm Gubo Architecture, and was linked with the Gyeonggi Social Economy Center’s ‘Social and Environmental Problem Solving Support Project.’
