U.S. President Joe Biden urged Chinese President Xi Jinping to use China's influence over North Korea and Russia to prevent North Korea from sending additional troops to Russia.
Jake Sullivan, U.S. National Security Advisor, stated this during an online briefing on the results of the U.S.-China summit held on the 16th (local time) in Lima, Peru.
He added, "President Biden emphasized that China has influence and capabilities over (North Korea and Russia) and should use them to prevent escalation of conflict and to stop the spread of conflict through North Korea's additional troop deployments."
Advisor Sullivan also introduced that President Biden highlighted that North Korea-Russia military cooperation increases the likelihood of North Korea's direct provocations against South Korea, missile launches, or a seventh nuclear test.
