Jung Il-woo Selected as Saigon Beer Model
First Offered After Enjoying Saigon Beer
Korea-Vietnam Joint Film Scheduled for Early Next Year Release
Actor Jung Il-woo has set his sights on Vietnam. Following his role in the Korea-Vietnam co-production film "Going to Abandon My Mother" (directed by Mo Hong-jin), he has become the new face of a leading local beer brand.
Jung Il-woo was recently selected as the model for "Bia Saigon Special," a representative beer brand of Vietnam. This appointment came after Jung praised Saigon beer in a video on his personal YouTube channel. The brand reached out to him after seeing the video, leading to this collaboration. On the 9th (local time), Jung began his first activities as the brand model. He was invited as a special guest to the "Special Night Hanoi" event held at the Vietnam National Convention Center in Hanoi, where he met with over 1,000 fans.
The event organizers stated, "We judged that Jung Il-woo's sincere and warm charm aligns well with the brand image of 'Bia Saigon Special.' We are very pleased to share this valuable experience with Jung Il-woo at this event."
Earlier, Jung Il-woo also announced his participation in the Korea-Vietnam co-production film "Going to Abandon My Mother."
The film tells the story of a protagonist living as a poor street barber in Vietnam who, while caring for his mother suffering from dementia, faces his own declining health and decides to seek help from his brother living in Korea. This touching family story is set against the backdrops of both Vietnam and Korea.
Jung Il-woo plays the role of Jung-min and stars alongside Vietnamese star actors Tuan Tran and Hong Dao. Filming began last month in Korea and is scheduled to conclude in Vietnam in December. The film is set to be released in the first half of next year.
