Namyangju City Holds Human Rights Commission Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting

At this meeting, with the attendance of the vice mayor and nine committee members, appointment letters were awarded to the newly formed committee members due to the expiration of their terms, and officers were elected to strengthen unity.


The committee shared achievements of major projects and discussed future directions to establish practical and concrete human rights policies.


In particular, the committee reviewed the detailed tasks of the "Namyangju City Human Rights Guarantee and Promotion Implementation Plan," established by Namyangju City this year to become a city where citizens' human rights are respected.


Additionally, each department shared the outcomes of projects reflecting the unique characteristics and identity of the region, including △ operation of the Ombudsman system △ operation of the resident participation platform △ support for vehicles of disabled organizations △ operation of low-floor buses and Hope Call for transportation-vulnerable groups △ operation of the free legal counseling center.


Vice Mayor Hong Ji-seon said, "The development of Namyangju City stems from an environment where the rights of each citizen are respected," and added, "We ask for the active participation and continuous interest of the committee members in policies to guarantee and promote human rights so that Namyangju City can grow into a human rights-friendly city through the Human Rights Committee."


Newly elected Chairman Yoo Hyo-seong said, "This meeting will be an opportunity to advance Namyangju City's human rights policies to the next level," and added, "We will do our best to develop into a human rights-friendly city that citizens can feel."


The city is conducting human rights education to raise the sensitivity of citizens and employees to human rights, and plans to expand inclusive human rights policies, including strengthening human rights education by reflecting the opinions of the committee members on this day, so that all citizens can equally guarantee their human rights.
