Yangju-si Successfully Holds the '2024 Senior University Graduation Ceremony'

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 15th that the 2024 graduation ceremonies for nine senior colleges affiliated with the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yangju Branch (President Lee Chae-yong) were successfully completed.

The graduation ceremonies began on the 1st at Yangju 2-dong Senior College and proceeded in the following order: ▲ Eunhyeon Senior College (4th), ▲ Jangheung Senior College (5th), ▲ Baekseok Senior College (7th), ▲ Gwangjeok Senior College (11th), ▲ Yangju 1-dong Senior College (13th), ▲ Nam-myeon Senior College (14th), and ▲ Hoecheon·Branch Senior College (15th).


The senior colleges offer a variety of lectures including liberal arts, health, cultural exploration, and experiential learning, and it is reported that a total of 533 graduates completed the program this year.


At the graduation ceremonies, many distinguished guests attended, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City, Yoon Chang-cheol, Chairman of the Yangju City Council, city council members, and heads of local organizations, sharing a warm time congratulating the graduates who diligently completed the course over approximately six months.


President Lee Chae-yong of the Yangju Branch said, “Thanks to the support and backing of many people, we have completed the academic schedule of the senior colleges for this year,” adding, “For our seniors to become responsible members of society rather than dependents, it is important to maintain a continuous learning attitude.”


Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City said, “I respect and sincerely congratulate the seniors who received their honorable diplomas in good health and with great effort and passion,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve senior welfare so that our elders can enjoy a happy and healthy old age.”
