LG Display will make an additional investment of 1.4 trillion KRW in its production facilities in Vietnam over the next five years.
According to major foreign media on the 15th, the authorities of Haiphong City, Vietnam, have authorized LG Display to increase its investment by 1 billion USD (approximately 1.394 trillion KRW) over the next five years.
If this investment is made, LG Display's total investment in Vietnam will increase to 5.65 billion USD (approximately 7.8761 trillion KRW).
Haiphong is the largest port city in northern Vietnam. Large Korean conglomerates and small and medium-sized partner companies have entered the market on a large scale.
Korea's investment in Haiphong is the largest at 11 billion USD (15.334 trillion KRW), followed by China and Japan.
LG Display's Haiphong plant was completed in 2017. LG Display is reportedly planning to operate its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) module factory stably through additional investment.
