The BPA Operations Headquarters Director and the New Port Branch Manager inspected facilities around the New Port small vessel dock and the Ungdong hinterland complex to check for various winter-related hazards such as freezing, burst pipes, floor icing, and fire risks.
For safety-vulnerable sites, proactive preventive measures were taken, including reinforcing insulation to prevent pipe bursts, replenishing calcium chloride, and placing sandbags.
Hong Sung-joon, Director of BPA Operations Headquarters, stated, “During the winter season, the risk of accidents caused by burst pipes and icing, as well as fire hazards, increases. Therefore, we will address deficiencies through prior inspections and ensure thorough health management for workers, including prevention of cold-related illnesses.”
