Kim Junsu (Xiah Junsu), formerly of the group TVXQ, has been revealed to have been threatened by a female BJ on AfreecaTV, and his agency has issued an official statement.

On the 15th, Kim Junsu's agency, Palm Tree Island, stated, "As recently reported, Ms. A illegally recorded conversations with Kim Junsu for illicit purposes and threatened to distribute them on social networking services (SNS). She continued to threaten, saying, 'Although I know Kim Junsu is not at fault, even a single false article can damage a celebrity's image. Kim Junsu is unable to appear on broadcasts, so his image cannot be restored. However, I have nothing to lose,' and persisted with continuous threats."

They added, "In particular, Ms. A continued these threats because Kim Junsu is a celebrity," and said, "Even while acknowledging that Kim Junsu has done nothing wrong, she exploited public perception and his status as a celebrity to persist in this behavior." They further explained, "We want to make it clear that Mr. Kim Junsu is the clear victim in this case," and "Mr. Kim Junsu has confirmed that there are multiple victims of Ms. A's extortion and threats, and has decided to take legal action to prevent further harm."

Furthermore, "Currently, the case is at the stage of a court warrant trial, so we ask for your understanding that we cannot provide detailed explanations. We will disclose additional statements once the investigation and trial are concluded," and "We hope this incident raises awareness of how serious and malicious acts of unjust threats and extortion are, and our agency promises to respond firmly until the end." Finally, they added, "We reiterate that Kim Junsu is a clear victim who has committed no illegal acts or crimes related to this incident."

Earlier, Munhwa Ilbo reported that the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency applied for an arrest warrant on the 13th against female BJ Ms. A on charges of extortion under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes. Ms. A is accused of threatening Kim Junsu from September 2020 until last month, extorting approximately 840 million KRW over 101 instances. According to the police, Ms. A met Kim Junsu in 2019 and recorded their conversations and voice messages, threatening to distribute them on SNS.
