Actress Kim Tae-hee, known as a Catholic, made a surprise appearance at a Mass at Myeongdong Cathedral, drawing attention.
On the 11th, the YouTube channel 'cpbc (Catholic Peace Broadcasting Corporation) News' featured Kim Tae-hee standing on the laypeople's Sunday faith experience podium at the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Seoul the day before. On that day, Kim Tae-hee said she stood in front of the lectern to share her faith experience with young people. Wearing a veil and standing before the youth, she opened by saying, "Since today is Sunday, I spent the whole day wrestling with the kids at home, sweating profusely, and barely made it in time for the 7 PM Mass."
Kim Tae-hee emphasized, "If someone asks me why I go to church, I would answer simply, 'To be happy,' without further explanation." Reflecting on her past, she explained, "During my school days, I lived as a model student, experienced the joy of entering the university I wanted through hard study, was fortunate to gain a lot of popularity and received abundant love from people, and now I have two precious daughters, more valuable than anyone else in the world, and have built the harmonious family I always dreamed of." However, Kim Tae-hee confessed, "Not every moment over the past 40 years was always happy and good," adding, "Like you, I have had countless worries and conflicts in life, ranging from very small and trivial conflicts with people around me to major incidents that had to be resolved." She said that the most powerful presence for her was God.

Kim Tae-hee also introduced a Bible verse that touched her during her first Bible study meeting. "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." (John 3:8) After reading this, Kim Tae-hee said, "(This verse) means that a person filled with the Spirit is free like the wind," and added, "I want to live without any restrictions, not being swayed by ups and downs, just as the verse says."
It was reported that Kim Tae-hee's husband, Bi, and their two daughters attended the Mass with her that day. When Kim Tae-hee appeared at the cathedral, surprised parishioners were busy taking photos with their phones. Kim Tae-hee and Bi held their wedding ceremony in the form of a Nuptial Mass at Gahoe-dong Cathedral in Jongno-gu, Seoul, in 2017. Bi is known to have become a Catholic following Kim Tae-hee, who is a Catholic believer. The couple married in January 2017, announced the birth of their first daughter in October of the same year, and had their second daughter in 2019.
