Positive Effects on Physical Development and Learning Ability

Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that it has launched the ‘Happy Two Meals Project,’ which provides lunchboxes for one year to children at risk of food insecurity.

This project is being promoted through a public-private partnership involving Uiryeong-gun, the social contribution network ‘Happy Alliance,’ and the Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative.

At the ‘Happy Two Meals Project’ agreement ceremony held at Uiryeong County Office on the 13th, County Governor Oh Tae-wan, Cho Min-young, Head of the Happy Alliance Secretariat, and Choi Jun, Secretary General of the Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative, attended.

According to the agreement, Uiryeong-gun will identify children in need of meal support and provide administrative assistance such as case management. Happy Alliance will be responsible for overall operation and provide necessary funding. The Happy Dosirak Social Cooperative will handle side dish production, delivery, and monitoring.

With this support, the children will consistently receive healthy meals, which is expected to have a positive impact on their physical development and learning abilities. Uiryeong-gun plans to continue managing the children so that they can be included in the public meal support program even after the project ends.

Governor Oh stated, “Local governments and the private sector will continue to cooperate to ensure that children from vulnerable groups grow up healthier through ongoing attention and support.”
