Chuncheon City promotes itself as a 'World-Class Sports City' to participating athletes and officials

Chuncheon City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced that the '2024 Chuncheon International Youth Friendly Soccer Tournament,' held at Songam Sports Town Chuncheon Air Dome from the 12th, held its final match on the 14th and closed on the 15th.

In this tournament, 12 teams from 5 countries including Korea, China, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Malaysia, with over 230 players and officials participated, competing in group leagues and ranking matches.

In the final match at 4 p.m. on the last day of the competition, the 14th, the Dalian team from China clashed with SON Soccer Academy from Chuncheon. The championship trophy went to the Dalian team, and the runner-up was the Chuncheon team, SON Soccer Academy.

In the third and fourth place match between Gangneung Citizen Club Youth FC and Seoul Daedong Elementary School FC, Gangneung Citizen Club won after a penalty shootout.

The Chuncheon City Sports Council, which hosted the tournament, presented medals and commemorative albums to all players of the 12 teams at the awards ceremony on the 14th.

During the tournament, the youth players visited local attractions such as Samaksan Lake Cable Car, Legoland, and the Animation Museum, experiencing Chuncheon's stature as a world-class sports city.
