Busan Urban Corporation Holds Completion Ceremony for the 16th BMC Children's Dream Garden

BMC's Leading Social Contribution Project Provides Safe and Warm Children's Play Spaces

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) held the completion ceremony for the "16th BMC Children's Dream Garden" on the 14th at the Daon Park Children's Playground in Eomgung-dong, Sasang-gu.

The event was attended by Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, Kim Hee-seok, Head of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation Busan Regional Headquarters, Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang-gu, along with children from nearby daycare centers at Daon Park Playground.

The BMC Children's Dream Garden is a representative social contribution activity of the corporation. Following the enforcement of the "2015 Children's Playground Safety Management Act," which led to the closure of over 1,500 playgrounds nationwide due to safety issues, BMC has been conducting the "Protect the Playground" campaign with the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation since 2016 to advocate for amendments to the Children's Playground Safety Management Act.

This year, BMC renovated playgrounds at Daon Park's BMC Children's Dream Garden and a daycare center in Bansong 1-dong, Haeundae-gu. To date, a total of 16 aging playgrounds have been transformed into safe and warm play spaces, returning to the children.

Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "I hope children, the future generation, grow their dreams and hopes while playing healthily and joyfully," adding, "BMC will continue to strive to improve citizens' residential welfare."
