Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Science University, Serving as a K-Beauty Global Job Training Platform

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do), Department of Medical Skin Beauty, participated in the '2024 Busan International Medical Tourism Convention' held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 from the 8th to the 9th.

Now in its 16th year, the 'Busan International Medical Tourism Convention' is an international medical and tourism exhibition jointly hosted by Busan City and the Busan Ilbo, and organized by the Busan Medical Industry Council.

With 200 booths from 100 institutions including university hospitals, general hospitals, small and medium-sized medical clinics, medical associations, local governments, and wellness companies, the event showcased the latest medical technologies and medical tourism information aimed at attracting overseas patients. Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was the only wellness medical beauty educational institution to operate an experience booth.

The event was attended by buyers from 11 countries including Mongolia, Russia, China, Japan, Kazakhstan, the United States, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology participated in business meetings with companies from Russia, Mongolia, and Japan to introduce the department and spa industry companies.

Professor Jang Jeong-hyun of the Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology said, “Busan has been selected for the ‘Wellness and Medical Tourism Convergence Cluster Project to Strengthen K-Tourism Competitiveness,’ pioneering a new normal era of medical tourism linked with marine wellness based on its pristine natural environment and medical infrastructure. Accordingly, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology aims to become a leading model for local universities by fostering sustainable global medical and wellness professionals suited to regional industrial environmental changes and demands, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of regional talent development institutions.”

The Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is taking swift steps to contribute to the activation of Busan’s economy and wellness tourism industry, including implementing the nation’s first global major training through cruise tours to develop a local talent development model in Busan in preparation for the full implementation of the RISE system starting in 2025.
