3Q Sales 75.1 Billion KRW... 1.6% Decrease YoY
Operating Profit Margin Up 13.9%p, Net Profit Margin Up 16.3%p
T map Mobility announced on the 14th that it recorded sales of 75.1 billion KRW and a net loss of 12.2 billion KRW in the third quarter. T map Mobility is a subsidiary of SK Square.
Sales declined by 1.6% year-on-year due to the optimization of low-profit business models (BM). However, the net loss decreased compared to the same period last year (24.8 billion KRW). Operating profit margin and net profit margin increased by 13.9 percentage points and 16.3 percentage points, respectively.
Profitability improvement was influenced by mobility data represented by the "driving score." T map Mobility stated, "The driving score, which quantifies each user's safe driving level, has established itself as a continuous growth engine for TMAP." The number of driving score users was recorded at 19.57 million, a 15.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Sales from the safe driving insurance discount special contract (UBI) business, linked to insurance through the driving score, also grew by about 9% year-on-year.
Traffic is also showing a stable upward trend. Monthly active users (MAU) increased by 3.7% year-on-year to 15.24 million, and cumulative subscribers grew by 15.6% to 23.42 million.
Advertising revenue grew by 9.3% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, sales in the mobility life sectors such as electric vehicle charging, rental cars, and used cars increased by 36.6%.
Meanwhile, T map Mobility plans to focus on high-growth, high value-added data businesses, aiming to achieve data-related sales of over 70 billion KRW this year and maintain an average annual sales growth rate in the 50% range until 2027. As part of its data-centric business, the AI location recommendation service "Eodigalkka," launched last September, has secured over 5 million cumulative users in just over a month since its release.
Lee Jaehwan, head of strategy at T map Mobility, said, "We have confirmed that a full-scale structural improvement is underway centered on the overwhelming mobility data accumulated over more than 20 years," adding, "With the introduction of AI, we will continue to offer advanced services that connect mobility and maintain a more robust revenue stream."
