Since its first event in 2018, this expo, now in its seventh edition, was held under the world’s first theme of "import" with an exhibition area of 360,000㎡ divided into six exhibition zones.

The six exhibition zones included automobiles, consumer goods, technology equipment, medical devices and pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural products, and service trade.

Notably, this year’s expo featured participation from 3,496 companies from 129 countries and regions worldwide, with approximately 820,000 visitors attending, marking the largest scale ever.

The city selected a total of eight companies?three medical supplies manufacturers, three cosmetics manufacturers, and one food manufacturer?and supported about 94% (7 million KRW) of the participation fee per company.

The local participating companies operated exhibition booths in the 'Consumer Goods Hall' and the 'Food & Agricultural Products Hall' according to their product categories, promoting their products and conducting buyer consultations, achieving 100 export consultations and on-site contracts worth 4.03 million USD (5.67 billion KRW). Subsequently, contracts worth 14.56 million USD (20.45 billion KRW) are expected to follow.

In particular, companies specializing in functional cosmetics and artificial intelligence attracted high interest from buyers, securing on-site contracts exceeding 4 million USD, thereby proving the excellence of competitive local products on the international stage.

In response to China’s strong domestic demand stimulation policies and the increasing demand for premium consumer goods and services within China, the city plans to support various export marketing efforts to enhance the competitiveness of local products such as medical bio and health foods, emphasizing eco-friendly and high-quality product differentiation strategies targeting Chinese target consumer groups.

Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Office of Busan City, stated, “Based on the demand and market trend analysis confirmed through this expo, we will actively support participating companies in continuously developing their sales channels in China,” adding, “We will expand multifaceted support projects such as acquiring certification standards to help local excellent products increase their competitiveness in the Chinese market.”
