Jungnang-gu Urban Agriculture Achievements?...Sharing Kimchi Filled with Love

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held an urban agriculture achievement sharing event at Jungnang Happiness 1 Farm on the 14th.

The event aimed to share the achievements of this year's urban agriculture projects and practice neighborly love by making kimchi together to share with neighbors.

Hosted by the Jungnang Urban Agriculture Cooperative, the event was attended by about 300 people, including Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu, Lee Byung-jun, head of the Jungnang Urban Agriculture Cooperative, and local residents.

The program included making kimchi with love, viewing photos of urban agriculture activities in 2024 and outstanding works from box gardens, awarding certificates of commendation to outstanding citizens who contributed to urban agriculture revitalization, and delivering the kimchi.

In particular, at this event, 1,000 kg of kimchi was made using radishes and napa cabbages grown in the experiential garden at Jungnang Happiness 1 Farm. The kimchi will be delivered to marginalized neighbors such as elderly living alone and single-parent families in the area.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “It is very meaningful to share the achievements of Jungnang-gu’s urban agriculture this year with the residents. I hope that the kimchi, carefully made with thoughts of our neighbors, will bring warmth to those in need in the community and help create a warm winter for everyone.”
