Sunjin Beauty Science, a specialized manufacturer of cosmetic raw materials led by CEO Lee Seong-ho, increased its global market sales even during the off-season for sunscreen products, recording the highest cumulative sales and operating profit for the third quarter since its establishment.
Sunjin Beauty Science announced its third-quarter results on the 14th through a public disclosure. Based on consolidated financial statements for the third quarter, cumulative operating profit reached approximately KRW 10,145.69 million, marking a 43% increase compared to the same period last year, while sales amounted to approximately KRW 60,865.53 million, showing an 11% growth. For the single quarter, operating profit was about KRW 2,520.08 million and sales were about KRW 18,228.91 million, representing growth of 72% and 19% respectively compared to the same quarter last year.
According to separate financial statements, cumulative operating profit for the third quarter was approximately KRW 8,833.35 million, and sales were about KRW 55,555.23 million, increasing by 61% and 8% respectively year-over-year.
Sunjin Beauty Science explained that demand for inorganic sunscreen ingredients in the European market was maintained, allowing growth to continue even in the third quarter, traditionally known as the off-season for sunscreen products. Additionally, demand for high value-added microbead products increased in the Chinese market, and order volumes surged in the Southeast Asian market centered on Indonesia, further supporting the company’s performance.
A company representative stated, “Following the implementation of the U.S. Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) this year, some products were rejected for import, leading cosmetic manufacturers to recognize the necessity of using FDA-certified raw materials. The new ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) factory, scheduled for completion next year, will be designed according to FDA production standards, just like the existing factory, to produce products. Based on this, we plan to target the global market and pursue additional growth.”
Founded in 1978, Sunjin Beauty Science is a cosmetic material specialist company with proprietary material technology. It focuses on producing raw materials such as sunscreen ingredients, microbeads, and skincare materials, supplying materials to numerous global companies including Chanel, L’Or?al, and Est?e Lauder, and exporting products to over 50 countries worldwide.
