"The Votes Entrusted by the People Should Not Be Used to Shield Criminals"
Kim Tae-heum, Governor of South Chungcheong Province, stated on the 14th, "I cannot bear to watch the actions of the Democratic Party as the verdict for Lee Jaemyung approaches," adding, "The Republic of Korea has become a country where criminals speak loudly."
Through social networking services (SNS) on this day, Governor Kim pointed out, "The Democratic Party has used the National Assembly as a shield for Lee Jaemyung, and now they are even announcing outdoor rallies every weekend, online signature campaigns for his acquittal, and large-scale rallies in front of the court on election day."
He continued, "Not satisfied with intimidating the judiciary, now they are trying to entice the judiciary with the budget, as if giving extra benefits to a rice cake seller," and criticized, "There are no people, only a criminal group destroying the separation of powers, the Constitution, and the rule of law in the Republic of Korea to secure an acquittal for their leader, undermining the identity of our country."
Governor Kim emphasized, "The support that the people gave in the general election this April should not be used as a shield for criminals," and added, "If Lee Jaemyung is confident in his innocence, rather than using his party leadership to incite, he should quietly wait for the judiciary's decision."
