World's Largest Air Cargo Event Held in Miami, USA
Incheon International Airport Corporation participated in the world's largest air cargo event to promote business attraction activities.
On the 14th, Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that it attended the "34th International Air Cargo Forum 2024," held in Miami, USA, from the 11th.
The International Air Cargo Forum is the world's largest specialized air cargo event organized by the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), an air cargo consortium. This year's event recorded the largest scale ever, with about 4,000 participants from airports, airlines, and logistics companies worldwide.
The corporation operated the "Incheon Airport Pavilion" together with four companies located in the Incheon Airport Free Trade Zone?Korean Air, LX Pantos, CJ Logistics, and Hyundai Glovis?and held discussions on developing cargo routes at Incheon Airport and utilizing the Incheon Airport Free Trade Zone as an Asian regional distribution center.
As a result, it was agreed to establish a comprehensive cooperation relationship in the cargo sector next year with Brussels Airport in Belgium, a European cargo hub airport. Regarding Miami Airport in the United States, a logistics gateway to the Latin American region, specific discussions were held on opening new Latin American cargo routes such as "Incheon Airport-Miami-Ecuador Quito."
Korean Air, which has operated Latin American cargo routes for the past 13 years, also held consultations with several global forwarders to attract new demand between Latin America and Asia. LX Pantos discussed supply cooperation plans with major airlines for North America and Latin America to strengthen its maritime and air transshipment business.
Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "As geopolitical volatility increases, such as the US-China relationship, the strategic importance of Incheon Airport connecting Asia and the Americas is growing," adding, "We will continue to create various collaboration opportunities so that our national airlines and logistics companies can expand their global logistics territories based on Incheon Airport."
