"I confess to using drugs in the Philippines."

On the 12th, Kim Najung (32), a former announcer turned model who stirred controversy by posting on Instagram that she was confessing to drug use while staying in the Philippines, was reportedly questioned by airport police immediately after returning to Korea.

On the 14th, Chosun Ilbo quoted the police as saying, "Kim Najung was questioned for about two hours by the Incheon International Airport Police Unit right after returning from Manila, Philippines to Incheon International Airport on the 12th, and then she was sent home."

A police official told Chosun Ilbo, "We took a statement from Kim Najung to verify the facts related to the post she made on social media," adding, "She has not been formally booked on drug use charges; the investigation was conducted at the preliminary inquiry stage." Regarding whether a simple drug test was conducted, the official responded, "We cannot confirm that."

Kim Najung's 'drug use' suspicion first arose on the 12th through her Instagram. On that day, she posted on her Instagram, "I am currently at the Manila Conrad Hotel," and wrote, "My life is under threat. I am so scared that I can't even go to the airport or take a taxi. Please help me."

She later shared text messages exchanged with the embassy's official number, requesting, "Please call the embassy for me." Kim Najung urgently requested, saying, "I want to go to Korea. I feel like I will die if I board the plane," and "If I leave Manila, I will die. The airport is dangerous," but she did not provide any explanation about the circumstances, raising concerns.

However, it was revealed that the reason Kim Najung made the urgent request in Manila, Philippines, was related to drugs.

Later, in an Instagram story she posted, she said, "Last night, the flight from Manila was delayed, and late at night, airport staff, passengers, and immigration were all filming me. Like in The Truman Show, to avoid a drug smuggling incident, I threw away all my carry-ons and bags," and suddenly added, "I confess to using drugs in the Philippines. Due to my delusions, I feel like I will die somehow, so I can't board the plane."

Amid rambling, she confessed to drug use. The post spread across various online communities, and Kim Najung was quickly engulfed in drug use allegations.

One netizen has reported Kim Najung to the police on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. This netizen emphasized, "As cases of drug use among celebrities increase, the risk of drug addiction among youths imitating them is also rising," and added, "Investigative agencies should strictly punish drug crimes by celebrities to serve as a deterrent."

Meanwhile, Kim Najung gained attention by winning the Miss Maxim contest in 2019. Since then, she has been actively working across various channels, appearing in survival games such as 'Verification Zone: The Community' and 'Black Sheep Game,' which aired on Wavve.
