Continuous Recruitment of Veterans' Meal Recipients, Apply at Local Community Service Center in Your Residence
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Gang-su) started the “Veterans’ Meal Prepared by Mapo Residents” program for national veterans on November 11.
The “Veterans’ Meal” project prioritizes selecting national veterans aged 75 and older as recipients of the “Resident Participation Filial Piety Meal” support program.
Through this, Mapo-gu aims to provide proper respect and implement tangible welfare policies that veterans who sacrificed and dedicated themselves for the Republic of Korea can truly feel.
Recipients of the Veterans’ Meal receive a freshly prepared, nutritious, high-quality filial piety lunch on the day of service.
Along with this, one-stop welfare services such as welfare checks, health, legal, and tax consultations are provided.
Recipients of the Veterans’ Meal are continuously recruited and can apply at their local community service center.
The community service center that receives the application holds a selection committee meeting and prioritizes recipients within the capacity of each meal service institution.
On November 19, Mapo-gu plans to hold a launch ceremony for the “Veterans’ Meal Promotion Team” in cooperation with nine veterans’ organizations under the Veterans Hall Operations Council and the Mapo Welfare Foundation to promote the Veterans’ Meal to veterans and recruit volunteers, aiming to establish a culture of honoring veterans in daily life.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “The safety and peace our generation enjoys are built upon the dedication and sacrifice of national veterans,” adding, “I hope that the warm and sincere Veterans’ Meal prepared together with residents conveys our respect and gratitude to the veterans.”
