Real-time Translation of Face-to-Face Conversations and Non-Face-to-Face Meetings
Global language AI company DeepL announced on the 14th the launch of its first voice translation solution, 'DeepL Voice.'
The new product consists of two models: 'Voice for Meetings' and 'Voice for Conversations.' Through these, users can receive real-time translation services in multiple languages during face-to-face conversations and remote video conferences.
With DeepL Voice for Meetings, meeting participants can speak in their preferred language, and other attendees can view the content through real-time translated subtitles. DeepL Voice for Conversations is a mobile solution designed for one-on-one face-to-face conversations. It offers subtitle translation in two viewing modes, allowing two people to easily check the translated content simultaneously on one device.
DeepL Voice is currently available to business subscribers worldwide, supporting voice translation in 13 languages: Korean, English, German, Japanese, Swedish, Dutch, French, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Italian. The number of supported languages will be expanded in the future. For real-time subtitle translation, all 33 languages currently supported by the DeepL Translator are applicable.
Jarek Kutylowski, founder and CEO of DeepL, explained, "When translating speech in real time, inaccurate input, pronunciation issues, and latency can cause inaccurate translations and degrade the user experience, much like the errors that often occur in actual conversations." He added, "DeepL built the solution from the ground up with this in mind."
