First Period Korean Subject Absence Rate Tentatively Recorded at 11.12%
Gyeonggi Province: 153,600 Candidates at 344 Exam Centers in 19 Districts
Increase of 7,478 Current Students and 1,298 Graduates Compared to Last Year
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) is actively working to ensure the stable operation of the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).

The Office of Education operates 344 exam supervisors and 5,946 exam rooms across 19 testing districts. The number of CSAT applicants in the province totals 153,600, accounting for 29.39% of the nationwide applicants, which number 522,670.
National applicants increased by 18,082 compared to the previous year, while the number of applicants within Gyeonggi Province increased by 7,478. Among the expected test takers in the province, 94,992 are current students, an increase of 6,180 from the previous year, and 58,608 are graduates or others, an increase of 1,298 from the previous year. Among the expected examinees, 19 are aged 65 or older, and 59 are aged 15 or younger.
Among the expected test takers, 16,922 were absent for the first period, resulting in a tentative absentee rate of 11.12%. This is a decrease of 0.66 percentage points compared to the 11.78% absentee rate for the first period of the 2024 CSAT.
The number of expected examinees by subject area in the 2025 CSAT within the province is as follows: 152,143 for Korean, 144,004 for Mathematics, 150,352 for English, 149,370 for Inquiry subjects, and 28,570 for Second Foreign Language/Chinese Characters.
Meanwhile, the Office of Education is operating a comprehensive situation room for the 2025 CSAT at the Northern Office building. They are doing their best to respond promptly to various incidents and inquiries in each of the 19 testing districts within the province to ensure a safe and smooth administration of the CSAT.
