The city recognizes the need for capacity-building education for workers at long-term care institutions, which play a pivotal role in elderly care services in preparation for a super-aged society, and promotes capacity-building training for workers twice a year.
This training was organized efficiently with the cooperation of Goyang Fire Station, the Incheon-Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service, and the Northwestern Gyeonggi Elder Protection Agency, so that workers who find it difficult to secure training time due to elderly care duties can receive essential education for operating long-term care institutions all at once.
The training was conducted in three sessions. In the first session, Goyang Fire Station provided fire safety and emergency evacuation training. The second session was conducted by the Northwestern Gyeonggi Elder Protection Agency, focusing on raising awareness of human rights protection and abuse prevention based on various cases of human rights violations.
In the final session led by the Incheon-Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the National Health Insurance Service, participants were educated on the evaluation manual that institutions must follow and know while operating long-term care institutions, and learned about the prevention of fraudulent claims through examples of improper claims during on-site inspections.
A Goyang Special City official stated, “We will actively promote various training programs for long-term care institution workers to enhance their problem-solving skills for issues occurring in the field and to strengthen their expertise.”
