Ajou IB Investment continues its strong performance for the second consecutive trading day following news of its stake in SpaceX.

As of 10:31 AM on the 14th, Ajou IB Investment is trading at 2,830 KRW, up 7.41% (195 KRW) from the previous trading day. It reached an intraday high of 3,200 KRW (21.67%) and is currently undergoing a correction. Following the previous day's limit-up, the momentum continues for two days in a row.

It is known that Ajou IB Investment established a special purpose company (SPC) for investing in SpaceX through its U.S. subsidiary, SolarStar Ventures, last year and executed the investment. The exact shareholding and investment amount remain undisclosed.

SpaceX is considered a company expected to benefit following the election of President Donald Trump. This is due to increased expectations that the business expansion of SpaceX, led by Elon Musk who actively supported Trump's election, will gain momentum. The industry anticipates a relaxation of various regulations related to space businesses, including SpaceX.

Ajou IB Investment is Korea's first venture capital (VC) firm, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The history of Ajou IB dates back to Korea Technology Advancement Corporation, established in 1974. It was created with full funding from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) at the time. Ajou Group acquired it in 2008 during the privatization of public enterprises. In the first half of this year, it recorded an operating profit of 10.8 billion KRW on a consolidated basis. Currently, it is a leading large-scale VC in Korea, managing assets under management (AUM) worth approximately 2.3 trillion KRW.
