Park Dan, Emergency Response Committee Chair of the Korean Intern Resident Association (KIRA), congratulated Park Hyung-wook, Vice President of the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences, who was elected as the Emergency Response Committee Chair of the Korean Medical Association (KMA) on the 13th.
Chairman Park shared a related article on his Facebook immediately after the announcement of the KMA Emergency Response Committee Chair election results, adding a brief message: "Congratulations on your election. This is just the beginning."

As a representative of residents, Chairman Park, along with 72 resident representatives from various hospitals, sent a message to the delegates recommending Professor Park Hyung-wook as the Emergency Response Committee Chair ahead of the election, which had four candidates running.
Chairman Park Hyung-wook also responded in his victory speech, saying, "I will ensure that the views of residents and medical students, who have been marginalized in the operation of the emergency committee so far, are fully reflected."
The election was held following the impeachment of former KMA President Lim Hyun-taek on the 10th amid controversies over his "harsh remarks and lack of communication," leading the KMA to transition to an emergency response committee system.
Previously, Chairman Park Dan was recognized for exerting considerable influence during the impeachment and transition process of the KMA emergency response committee, having officially requested the impeachment of former President Lim along with other residents before the impeachment vote.
