A professor at the Central Police Academy has been booked on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in her 30s with an intellectual disability.

On the 13th, the Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency announced that they have booked Professor A of the Central Police Academy without detention on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in her 30s with a severe intellectual disability (rape of a disabled person under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act) and are currently investigating.

Professor A is accused of sexually assaulting woman B, who has an intellectual disability, on the 5th at the school’s official residence, an apartment located in Chungju.

Earlier, B was reported missing by her parents residing in Chungnam on the same day, and the police found B with Professor A at the official residence around 2 a.m. the next day through mobile phone location tracking.

The two became acquainted through social networking services (SNS) and arranged to meet at the official residence, according to the investigation.

B claims she was sexually assaulted, but Professor A denies the allegations.

The police collected DNA evidence from B’s body and requested analysis from the National Forensic Service to verify the facts.

The Central Police Academy reportedly suspended Professor A from his position immediately after being notified of the police investigation.
