Visiting 11 Local Elementary Schools by Year-End to Provide Economic Education for 5th and 6th Graders
Customized Lectures by Grade with Different Themes Such as 'Allowance Management King' and 'Wise Financial Life'
Expected to Help Elementary Students Establish Proper Economic Concepts and Develop Healthy Financial Habits
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will operate the "Visiting Elementary School Economic Class" for 5th and 6th graders at 11 elementary schools in the area until the end of this year.
To live wisely in modern society, it is essential to recognize the importance of economics from an early age. Accordingly, the district has prepared this educational program to instill proper economic concepts and provide various financial knowledge to elementary school students.
The education will be conducted in cooperation with the Seoul Regional Economic Education Center of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, offering customized lectures on different topics according to grade level. The "Allowance Management King" program will be held for 20 fifth-grade classes at three elementary schools, including Gwangnam Elementary School. Students will learn how to keep an allowance ledger with professional instructors and acquire efficient allowance management skills through experiential activities such as board games.
At eight elementary schools, including Shinyang Elementary School, the "Wise Financial Life" program will be conducted for 40 sixth-grade classes. The lectures are systematically designed to help students gain a basic understanding of financial companies and financial products through discussion activities and board games, enabling them to naturally recognize the importance of finance in daily life.
Through this education, it is expected that elementary school students will properly establish economic concepts and form sound economic habits.
