Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 13th that County Governor Seo Tae-won attended the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Province-City and County Policy Meeting’ held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government on the 11th and proposed three local issues for the betterment of residents' lives.

This meeting was held as the first governor-mayor/county governor meeting in the second half of the 8th term of the elected government, attended by Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon and heads of 31 cities and counties.

At the meeting, Governor Kim Dong-yeon mentioned the recent international situation and difficulties in people's livelihoods, emphasizing the organic cooperation between Gyeonggi Province and cities and counties. He stated, “In the urgent international situation such as the U.S. presidential election results and North Korea’s deployment of troops to Russia, the roles of each city and county have become more important,” and introduced the key tasks for the second half of the 8th term. Governor Kim announced plans to focus on four areas based on a human-centered economy called ‘Humarnomics’: △Opportunity Economy △Care Economy △Climate Economy △Peace Economy.

County Governor Seo Tae-won proposed the major local issues of Gapyeong-gun at this meeting, including the Jojongcheon Homyeong Bridge construction project, the registration of Jaraseom as a provincial garden, and the construction of the Gapyeong-gun Senior Citizens’ Center, requesting active support to resolve these issues. In response, Governor Kim Dong-yeon promised, “We will actively review matters that can be implemented immediately,” expressing his willingness to support the development of Gapyeong-gun.

A Gapyeong-gun official stated, “This meeting provided an opportunity for the province and cities and counties to exchange opinions on local issues,” adding, “In particular, County Governor Seo made specific policy proposals for the development of Gapyeong-gun at this meeting, leading to cooperation and support from Gyeonggi Province.”
