The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Protection Agency have been conducting a child abuse prevention relay campaign since May to prevent child abuse and promote a culture of "positive parenting" without corporal punishment based on the principle of respecting children.

The campaign involves the nominated person holding a placard that reads "Respecting Children as They Are, Positive Parenting" and taking a certification photo. Participants then nominate two others for the next round. Anyone interested in preventing child abuse can participate.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun, who joined the campaign upon the nomination of Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang City, nominated Kim Wan-geun, Mayor of Jeju City, and Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang City, as the next participants.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "Suwon City, certified as a child-friendly city by the UNICEF Korea Committee, is implementing various policies to ensure that children can grow up happily and healthily," and promised, "We will continue to make efforts to promote children's rights and eradicate child abuse."
