Started in 2019 and now in its fifth year, the 'Local Autonomy Awards' is an event that selects and honors outstanding local resources and talents. This year, 65 institutions, organizations, and individuals nationwide participated, and after the first document screening and the second resident judging panel evaluation, a total of 28 entries were selected for on-site judging.
The city submitted a video introducing competitive policies aligned with the trends of the future society and regional characteristics in the category of 'Surviving through Autonomy,' and was selected for the Silver Award in the 'CEO Award' category.
The video submitted by the city included efforts to foster future industries for sustainable urban development and establish an administrative system for an AI-based future society, featuring ▲ promotion of the Hwaseong-type Technopolis ▲ designation of a venture business promotion district ▲ establishment of the first AI strategy department among all basic local governments nationwide ▲ establishment of the nation’s largest and first autonomous driving living lab demonstration city infrastructure ▲ and implementation of an AI-based civil complaint consultation 'chatbot service.'
