"Will Reveal the Forces Behind Park Dan"... Medical Association President Resumes SNS Amid 'Impeachment'

"Park Dani Should Solve the Medical Corruption Issue"

Former Korea Medical Association (KMA) President Im Hyeon-taek, who was involved in a controversy over offensive remarks, has reopened his previously closed Facebook account and shared his future plans.

On the 13th, Im posted on his Facebook, "First, I apologize to everyone who supported me after I was impeached by the KMA delegates from the presidency," adding, "Regardless of the reasons, it was my fault to give an excuse to those who had decided to impeach me even before I took office."

He continued, "I have come to deeply realize that the Medical Association will never change unless fundamental reforms are made from within," and "Therefore, as the first step toward fundamental reform, I plan to hold a general meeting of members under civil law, including the abolition of the KMA delegates. I will soon share detailed plans."

Earlier, Im criticized Park Dan, the Emergency Committee Chair of the Korean Intern and Resident Association (KIRA), in a Facebook post the day before. He stated, "Why are the KMA delegates' emergency committee chair and the KMA presidential election still necessary?" and argued, "Park Dan should take on the roles of both KMA president and emergency committee chair to resolve the medical manipulation under full authority and responsibility." He added, "What is clear is that the '2025 medical school quota re-examination' that he has repeatedly mentioned must definitely be achieved."

Additionally, Im commented on the post, "I will reveal in great detail to all former medical association members what Park Dan and those who have been manipulating him behind the scenes have been doing."

Meanwhile, amid worsening public opinion inside and outside the medical community due to his offensive remarks controversy, Im closed his Facebook account last month. On the 30th of last month, he sent a text message to KMA members stating, "I will immediately delete all my SNS accounts and be especially careful with my words and actions." However, Im reopened his Facebook account two days after being impeached on the 10th.
