'Using Artificial Intelligence for University Promotion' Topic

Over 110 University Promotion Officials Attended

The era of artificial intelligence technology is also opening up in university admissions promotion.


The Korea University Public Relations Council (Chairman Kim Namsu) held an autumn seminar on the theme of ‘University Promotion Using Artificial Intelligence’ at Maison Glad Jeju from November 6 to 8.


The council announced on the 13th that about 110 people, including public relations officers from universities nationwide, media representatives, and related company officials, participated to engage in learning, communication, and exchange.


At the seminar, a commendation plaque was presented to Advisor Kim Youngkwon (Hoseo University), who served as the 25th chairman, in celebration of his retirement for his 36 years of dedication to the development of university administration and public relations.

Korea University Promotion Association Holds Autumn Seminar The Korea University Public Relations Council (Chairman Kim Nam-su) has been holding the "Autumn Seminar on University Promotion Using Artificial Intelligence" at Maison Glad Jeju from November 6 to 8.

Kim Namsu, head of the External Cooperation Team at Dong-Eui University and chairman of the council, said in his greeting, “The ability to handle artificial intelligence (AI) well has become important in this era,” adding, “I hope this will be a good opportunity to develop the sensibility to understand changes in the times and respond proactively.”


Chairman Kim introduced, “In recent years, AI applications used for video, image, photo, and audio work have increased exponentially, and the multimodal AI era has arrived beyond simple text. For this seminar, we invited instructors who are ahead of new trends by actually using AI-related applications.”


The first lecture of the seminar was given by Professor Jung Jooyoung of Dong-Eui University (Director of the Metaverse Research Institute), who introduced AI utilization methods through various examples under two themes: ‘AI Literacy and Ethics - University Promotion in the AX Era’ and ‘AI Practical Strategies - Giving Wings to Promotion Using AI.’ Topics included △ AI ethical principles and practical considerations △ GenAI literacy and ethics △ AI animation shorts production △ PowerPoint creation using AI △ Blog writing using ChatGPT.


Following this, Lee Yeon, Director of BQ AI (Head of AIDX Division), gave a lecture titled ‘Understanding LLM and Writing Press Releases Using AI Services.’ Director Lee explained prompts for using generative AI, how to write prompts effectively, and spell-checking press releases using AI.


On the second day, November 7, Kim Daehee, CEO of Samwoo Immersion, gave a presentation on ‘Reality Tech and Education of New Trends,’ covering △ explanations and application cases of AR, VR, MR, XR △ evolution of virtual reality △ operation of integrated XR content for education and training △ metaverse platforms and various other cases.


The Korea University Public Relations Council was established on July 11, 1997, with the purpose of developing public relations work at domestic universities, enhancing university competitiveness, and strengthening information sharing and solidarity among public relations officers. Currently, among about 200 four-year universities nationwide, public relations officers from about 140 universities participate as members, and the council has six regional branches: △ Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon △ Daegu, Gyeongbuk △ Daejeon, Chungcheong △ Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Jeju △ Seoul △ Honam.
