Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, nominated Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, to head the Department of Government Efficiency on the 12th (local time).
On the same day, Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social, "The great Elon Musk will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) along with American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy," adding, "These two outstanding Americans will work together to dismantle bureaucracy in the U.S. government, eliminate excessive regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and pave the way for restructuring federal agencies."
