President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has nominated former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe as the next Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
On the 12th (local time), Trump stated, "John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior fighting for the truth and honesty of the American people."
He continued, "I hope John will become the first person to lead the two top U.S. intelligence agencies," adding, "He will fearlessly fight for the highest level of national security and 'peace through strength,' while protecting the constitutional rights of all Americans."
