Applications accepted from November 18 to 29, 2024 at Mapo Job Center, 1st floor of Mapo District Office
Provides 90% of this year's paid industrial accident insurance premiums and winter cold-weather supplies together
Mapo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Gang-su) is recruiting the second round of participants for the "2024 Mapo-gu Platform Delivery Workers Support Project" to prevent industrial accidents among platform delivery workers and create a safe working environment.
Platform delivery workers face a high risk of industrial accidents due to the nature of their work, and unlike regular employees, they share the insurance premium with the employer (50%) when enrolling in industrial accident insurance, resulting in a heavy insurance premium burden.
To address this, the district will support 90% of the industrial accident insurance premium up to a maximum of 100,000 KRW this year, and to enhance safety during winter delivery work, safety items such as cold-proof handle mittens and face masks will also be provided.
The support target is platform delivery workers who have been continuously registered as residents in Mapo-gu from before October 31, 2024, until the application date, and who have completed job seeker registration at the Mapo Job Center on the first floor of Mapo-gu Office.
The application period is from November 18 to November 29. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. After verifying the applicant’s industrial accident insurance enrollment and premium payment, the support fund will be provided, and the program may close early if the budget is exhausted.
Applicants can visit the Mapo Job Center on the first floor of Mapo-gu Office to apply. For application documents and other details, inquiries can be made to the Employment Cooperation Division of Mapo-gu for detailed guidance. However, those who have already received or are scheduled to receive support from similar programs such as the Gyeonggi-do Platform Workers Industrial Accident Insurance Premium Support Project will be excluded from this support project.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “We will do our best to create an environment where platform delivery workers can work safely and healthily,” and added, “We will build a Mapo-gu where workers can work with peace of mind through various support and improvements in working conditions reflecting the voices from the field.”
