Unique Garden Created for Year-Round Enjoyment
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has renovated Baenamuteo Children's Park in Junggok 3-dong (20, Dongil-ro 76na-gil) and officially started its operation from the 5th.
Baenamuteo Children's Park is a park reconstructed above an underground public parking lot built in a densely populated residential area with severe parking difficulties. Construction began in October two years ago, and after 2 years and 1 month, it has been newly returned to the residents.
The park, covering an area of 972㎡, has been reborn as a pleasant and enjoyable resting space where children and residents can relax together.
A trampoline, popular among children, has been installed. Eight types of exercise equipment, benches, shade shelters, and drinking fountains have been arranged to enhance residents' convenience. CCTV, park lights, and air curtains have been carefully installed to ensure residents' safety.
An attractive garden that can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons has been created. On one side of the park, 43 species and 10,385 trees including Ipap trees and Baerong trees have been planted to create a distinctive garden-style flower bed. ▲In winter, the red colors of Honggasi and arrowwood ▲In spring and summer, the white and pink colors through Selix, hydrangea, and peony ▲In autumn, the vivid blue of sky gentian will decorate the garden to delight residents' eyes.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Baenamuteo Children's Park is a resting place not only for children but also for all local residents. I hope it becomes a resting space where people of all ages can comfortably relax and communicate.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to create an urban environment where people can rest and heal in their busy daily lives through various park projects.”
