Request for "Balanced Execution of Administrative Advertising"
Daegu City Council Administrative Audit
The Culture and Welfare Committee of the Daegu Metropolitan Council (Chairman Park Chang-seok) ordered on the 12th, during the administrative audit of the Daegu City Public Relations Office, fair media response, balanced media support for administrative advertisements, enhancement of efficiency in social network service (SNS) management, and exploration of data analysis utilization methods for YouTube videos.
Chairman Park Chang-seok (People Power Party, Gunwi-gun) emphasized that operating a YouTube channel acts as an important means of forming the city's brand beyond simple policy promotion, and requested efforts to shape a future image, including considering the introduction of an artificial intelligence (AI) announcer.
Assemblyman Lee Jae-sook (People Power Party, Dong-gu 4) mentioned the controversy over subscriber purchases on YouTube channels of other local governments and reviewed key data such as the average view rate of Daegu City's YouTube channel. He also demanded thorough data analysis and its application in video production to create attractive content rather than merely formal channel operation.
Assemblyman Ha Byung-moon (People Power Party, Buk-gu 4) inquired about the causes of the decline in briefing system performance and future measures, and urged balanced execution of administrative advertisements.
Assemblyman Kim Jae-woo (People Power Party, Dong-gu 1) requested to improve budget efficiency by re-examining SNS platforms through analyzing the cost and promotional effect relative to the number of subscribers per platform, rather than simply aiming for numerical increases in SNS operation.
Assemblyman Ha Jung-hwan (People Power Party, Dalseong-gun 1) pointed out that the Public Relations Office has not sufficiently fulfilled its role as the command center for media response and ordered strengthening its role to comprehensively manage and coordinate Daegu City's media response.
Assemblyman Jung Il-gyun (People Power Party, Suseong-gu 1) reviewed Daegu City's response to coverage related to the prohibition of interference with Daegu MBC's reporting and urged fair media response. He also requested efforts to produce key content that would attract viewers' interest.
